GLIDES (Global Learning Initiative through
Digital Education for Students) is a technology
initiative of the Broward County Public Schools.
This GLIDES project was developed at
Monarch High School in Coconut Creek, Florida.

More than 200 high school students + 8 teachers + digital cameras + video cameras + laptop computers + technology support + a desire to make a difference = The Power of One

These are the elements that led us to create "The Power of One" - a student organization whose mission is to become a change agent in our society.

Enabled by the latest technology tools, students researched social issues, their causes and effects - they delved deeply into issues that affect their community, their world. During their research, students started questioning what THEY could do to make a difference. From these discussions came the formation of the Power of One.
